Located at 520 Texas Avenue inside Bayou Place, Bayou Music Center is one of Downtown Houston’s most convenient mid-size concert venues. Unlike a fixed-seat arena, Bayou Music Center is built to change from show to show. The venue can be configured for general admission concerts, reserved theater-style seating, comedy shows, private events, and cabaret-style layouts. For concerts, it holds up to about 3,464 guests, which gives the room a bigger feel than a club but a much more intimate atmosphere than Toyota Center or NRG Stadium.

Driving & Parking
The most convenient parking option is usually the Theater District Parking Garage. This large underground garage sits below Bayou Place, Lynn Wyatt Square, and Tranquillity Park, making it one of the easiest places to park for a Bayou Music Center concert. Depending on which entrance you use, you can walk up near Bayou Place and be at the venue within a few minutes.
For the smoothest experience, reserve parking ahead of time when available. Downtown parking rates can change on concert nights, especially when there are events at nearby venues like Wortham Theater Center, Alley Theatre, Jones Hall, or Daikin Park. Street parking may be available on nearby blocks, but spaces are limited and posted restrictions are strictly enforced.
Bayou Place may also offer valet parking at certain times, which can be useful if you are arriving for dinner before the show. If you plan to use valet, check current hours and pricing before heading Downtown.
Public Transportation & Rideshare
- METRORail: The Red Line stops at Central Station Main, which is within walking distance of the Theater District. The Green and Purple Lines also serve the Theater District area, making rail a smart option if you want to avoid Downtown parking.
- Bus: Multiple METRO bus routes serve Downtown Houston and the Theater District. This can be useful if you are coming from Midtown, Montrose, the East End, or the Heights and do not want to drive.
- Rideshare (Uber/Lyft): Drop-off near Bayou Place is usually simple before the show, but pickup can be slower after the encore because Texas Avenue, Smith Street, Louisiana Street, and nearby Theater District blocks get crowded. For an easier pickup, walk a block or two away from the main entrance before calling your ride.
Bayou Music Center Seating Chart
Bayou Music Center does not have one permanent concert seating chart. The layout changes depending on the artist, production, and ticket type, so always check the seating map for your specific event before buying tickets.
- General Admission Floor: Best for fans who want to be closest to the stage. For standing-room shows, arriving early helps if you want a better spot near the rail or center floor.
- Reserved Floor Seating: Some concerts and comedy shows use seated floor sections instead of standing room. These are usually the closest assigned seats to the stage.

- Birraporetti’s: One of the most convenient pre-show restaurants near Bayou Music Center. It is a classic Theater District option for Italian food, pizza, pasta, wine, and a full sit-down meal before the concert.
- Lyric Market: A good choice if your group cannot agree on one cuisine. This upscale Downtown food hall has multiple vendors and a full bar, making it easy for everyone to grab something different before walking to the venue.
- Diana American Grill: Located inside the Hobby Center, this is a polished pre-theater option for a more relaxed sit-down dinner. It works best if you want a nicer meal before heading over to Bayou Place.
- Perbacco: A small Downtown Italian restaurant near the Theater District. It is a solid pick for pasta, wine, and a quieter dinner before a louder concert night.
